JULIA BURKE

DIRECTOR | ARCHITECT | (BA Hons MArch ARB RIBA)

Before founding Wattle + Daub Architects in 2019 Julia Burke worked for award-winning practices in London and Chester. 

For over six years Julia worked in London for internationally renowned architects WilkinsonEyre. She was part of the team working on the refurbishment of the Grade II Listed Weston Library in Oxford which was nominated for the RIBA Stirling Prize and won AJ Building of the Year.

Wattle + Daub have been appointed for over eighty projects including residential extensions, replacement dwellings, barn conversions and new build developments.

Having worked in Cheshire for a number of years, Julia has established relationships with planners, consultants and contractors.

All projects are given the same care and attention. Julia uses beautiful materials and well-crafted details to create a unique response to every project.

 

ROBERT BURKE

DIRECTOR | ARCHITECT | (BSc Hons ArchTech BA Hons MArch ARB)

Joining Wattle + Daub in 2021 Robert Burke brings a wealth of experience in conservation, retrofit and the adaptation of existing buildings.

Following a decade of working on multi-million-pound projects for large architectural practices in London and Manchester, Robert has returned to his roots of high-end residential and conversion projects.

Robert has extensive experience in heritage and conservation, having worked on some of the UK’s most important historic listed buildings during his time at Purcell Architects and BDP. His diverse portfolio includes projects undertaken at the Manchester Town Hall, Manchester Museum and the National Army Museum

Before working for larger practices in London, Robert worked at Thomas Croft Architects. A design-led studio concentrating on complex one-off residential and commercial projects, often involving renovations of historic old buildings or the design of new buildings in a historical context
